care package on wednesday

i got a care package from home. what better day to receive a care package than wednesday, the most dreaded day of the week? no better day, says i.

the package contained the following:

  • one box of Peanut Butter Crunch
  • two mouthpiece moufpiece brushes.
  • three boxes of peanut butter sandwich girl scout cookies
  • tax info

the moufpiece brushes were particularly appreciated. my old one was too large for my moufpieces anyway, and these new ones are smaller and clean the whole inside of the moufpiece.

now that lab band madness is over, we have 3 remaining rehearsals before our 1 o'clock lounge performance and one more after before our syndicate gig. we're playing some difficult charts, namely "What's New," "Mean What You Say," and to a lesser extent "Hoe-Down." "Hoe-Down" is really only difficult in two bars. "Hoe-Down" and "Mean What You Say" have some chord changes that i need to sit down and go over. lots of b5 and #9 chords, oh goody. i'll be putting my blasted Jazz Fundamentals II skills into practice.

it's time to take a shower, because i stink.

EDIT: i no longer stink, but i dont know if our syndicate gig is next week or the following week. i'm so confused.

someday you will abandon the pnutbutta crunch for the ways of the reeses puffs. And you will see the light. Posted by: phil at April 8, 2004 04:33 AM
The Syndicate's website says that you guys are playing next week. http://www.unt.edu/union/concerts.htm After all...I really doubt that you'd have a lab band concert during dead week. (haha, I spelled "week" as "weak"...I should've left it) Posted by: the Ross. at April 8, 2004 01:44 PM
no, that webpage says we're playing the 21st, which is in two weeks, but it says the 6 and 7 are playing next week, which obviously is false. i'm wondering if they're just pushing everything up a week. Posted by: john at April 8, 2004 01:58 PM
