it's people!

this friday, the members of the University of North Texas Men's Ultimate Team: Soylent Green (of which i am a member) headed out to Norman, OK for a 20-team tournament. Soylent Green was seeded 18th. we were not expected to win the tournament. how did we respond?

BY WINNING THE TOURNAMENT

the teams we played were: Colorado University (not the A squad), Arkansas State University, Kansas State University, Oklahoma State Univeristy, Colorado State University, University of Texas-Austin, and Oklahoma University.

all the games were to 13 points except versus UT and Oklahoma University, which were to 15 points. the only team (if i'm not mistaken) that got to double digits versus us was UT, with 10.

if you can't tell by my prose, i'm incredibly pumped about this. everyone played out of their minds on both offense and defense.

Soylent Green christened every game with the following cheer:

Leader: Where's the Beef?
All: THERE IS NO BEEF!
Leader: So what do we bring?
All: SOYLENT GREEN!

also, the cheer "Soylent Green: IT'S PEOPLE!" was often heard echoing throughout the intramural fields of Oklahoma University.
