i went to see the Killers with shannon last night. i got to walk around the skeezy part of Deep Ellum, with broken down doors, crackpipes and everything. after dinner of a slice of pizza and chocolate fortune cookie, we got into the Gypsy Tea Room, a moderately sized small venue.

the opening act, Trouble Everyday sucked. the lead singer was more of a lead shouter and during the first song, he played his guitar solo while holding his guitar out over the crowd.

Dear Trouble Everyday's Lead Singer/Guitarist,

You must first actually rock someone with your music before becoming a rock star.

Love,

John Guari

the Killers put on a great show. they played almost all the songs off of their album Hot Fuss as well as some B-sides and new material. the singer, Brandon Flowers told the audience that he was a bit sick, and therefore less animated than he usually was. regardless, his voice still sounded great.

earlier yesterday, i had my lesson, plus THREE MIDTERMS. every single class i had, except lab band was a midterm. it was not enjoyable. the Killers' show was the light at the end of the tunnel for me.
