wayside

so i just deleted over 1000 spam comments. this blog has become desolate.

good things have been happening lately. I've been getting more gigs playing keyboards around town. This is good experience and good moneys, but it's a bit stressful. I'll get a list of about 40 songs and have to figure out what to play on all of them and try and memorize them. No charts. It's really diffucult sometimes.

I was on a gig last night in which some songs were called out that I hadn't been informed would be on the setlist. I just had to roll with it. Also, some songs were in different keys than the original recordings.

My new band, Chestnut House has our first two gigs coming up. One on Thursday Sept 28 at Clark Grill on the UNT campus at 8:00PM, and one on Thursday Oct 12 at Art Six Coffee House in Denton. I'm excited for both, but more for the Art Six one, because it is free (Clark Grill, you have to pay unless you have a meal plan).

We have a rep of about 11 original songs now, so we don't have to use cover songs as padding. I'm really excited for people to hear what I've got to offer in the way of Piano Rock.

Speaking of which, Elizabeth and I are going to see Jamie Cullum next month. We are super psyched. It'll be both of our first times seeing him.

Lots of other stuff is happening, but I haven't the time to type it all out now.
