"this is a beige week." - Elizabeth

i'm spent. goodnight!
i've been in the computer lab past 11:30 almost every night this week, copying parts from Sammy Nestico's "The Queen Bee" into Finale.
today i woke up, ate, practiced, had a lesson, watched Mariachi Aguilas play in the College of Music, Finale'd, had a 1 and 1/2 hour sectional, and watched a master's recital.
i just wanna rest :-\
today marks the 6-month anniversary of me and elizabeth as a couple. i love her, and she loves me and makes me happy. she is the best girl!
so far this month, there are the usual 5,000 "bishop don magic juan" and "street fighter ii moves" search strings, so i'll highlight some newer or rarer ones.
lollerz
the worst part? he shot his grandfather and his g/f in the morning, and didn't start shooting at school until 2:00 PM. That's messed up. TOTALLY MESSED UP.
:(
so my spring break consisted of going to mesquite, TX with elizabeth, watching a lot of 24, a lot of movies, relaxing, going to tyler, TX for elizabeth's birthday.
there's too much stuff to do a detailed recap, but it was mostly fun.
now it is crazy time for me, as i have 2 lab band madness rehearsals tonight. i have to have elizabeth tape 24.
basically all that's going through my head is "blah blah blah trumpet blah blah blah 24 blah blah blah kiefer sutherland."
i'm nearing a decision on what to do this summer. i'm leaning towards staying in texas, taking lessons and classes and seeing if i can work a job. this would involve getting an apartment with jeremy and ross, and would be most likely a good time. i haven't made a decision yet, and the comfort of home would be far away. keep in mind i haven't been home since christmas break.
in any case, whatever i choose, i will probably be in minnesota for most of May.
comments on this subject may be appreciated.
i'm back from spring break in TX.
bought season 2 of 24. SO GOOD. BLARGH
EDIT: My room smells like a diaper.
without running the risk of revealing any storyline, this is partly what elizabeth looked like when viewing the first season finale of 24.

i so gotta buy the rest of them. oh man, oh man, oh man.
so far this week has been pretty good as for how i feel about my trumpet playing. did my scales test in lessons, no biggie, seeing as jazz kids not only need to know 3 minors and 1 major, we also need like a bajillion other scales too. i managed to pick all the A-flat scales in the bag though. i was thinking about going into why it's harder to play A-flat, but i won't. thank me later.
i got a compliment from someone i'm not accustomed to getting compliments from. it was unexpected and good.
i sounded all right tuning-wise in lab band yesterday. hopefully it will keep on going.
OH MAN
also, i know kids from Minnesota remember this game, but i don't know if Texas kids know "Oboe Shenatintatin" or however it is spelled. i feel like a total dork every time i ask someone about it.
i need feedback about "Oboe Shenatintatin." memories. comment. NOW!
i got three pieces of mail today.
ok. i gotta get back to having no real monday.
24 is on tonight! watch it. WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR
so the week picked up after tuesday for the most part. only one week to go before spring break. how delightful.
i need to practice more.
elizabeth brought me a cookie cone!
this week is trying to be the suckiest ever.
EDIT: ok, so i was falling asleep in government, skipped aural skills to warm up for playing at the one o clock lounge (place) at noon (time). pretty much the entire 5 o clock lab band was off its game today. each tiny mistake snowballed into massive hulking giant mistakes. not good for morale. i made some final touches to my big band chart that we were going to play at reheasal, but then rehearsal was canceled. we had a trumpet sectional instead. bluh. i took a little break after dinner, then worked on a miles davis transcription and transcribed one chorus of bob mintzer off of "Freedomland," so that i won't sound like the worst improviser in the world on it the next time i play it.
one thing that has brightened my day is the picture of Chick Corea on the inside cover of "The Chick Corea Elektric Band."
