real musician elimination show
someone needs to produce a "reality" TV show quasi-akin to American Idol or Rockstar: INXS, but it needs to involve actual, talented (AKA Jazz) musicians. judging could be done by jazz legends who are still alive (there are some).
Quincy Jones would be a great choice, because he's also done so much visible commercial stuff, and has a recognized name that could help promote the show.
with the right network and the right kind of publicity, i think a show like that could do really well.

early to rise
time to go see the EHS Jazz One band, then time for work, then time for an X-ray, then time for a haircut.
then time, for summer skies, for hummingbirds and butterfl-

Hopefully FOX won't cancel Arrested Development at all, but if they do, ABC and Showtime have expressed interest.

jury duty
so the ice storms have pushed my jury from yesterday to this coming monday. on monday, i also have my ICE exam (haha) and a math final. this was not the optimal arrangement. i don't want to have to do my ICE and jury on the same day.
at least i get the weekend to continue practicing.
probably going to go see the chronicles of narnia today with elizabeth!

WINNAR
my band, The Pyramid Scheme won the Clark Grill Battle of the Bands! our prizes are as follows:
- $10.00 gift cards to Main Event for each of us
- $25.00 gift card to Hastings (CDs, DVDs, VGs, etc) for the whole band.
- One free two-topping pizza at the Tomato
- Free drumsticks for nate
- Free work done on Chris's guitar and Dan's Bass at some guitar place.
all in all, a rediculously awesome amount of prizes for about a half hour of music. our setlist was as follows:
- "Circles," (Music and Words by Me, except for the words to the chorus, which Chris came up with)
- "Russian Song," (Words and Music by Chris. AKA "Never Say Never," including a bitchin' melodica solo by me)
- "Roxanne," for people who like England and Prostitutes (done in C minor, so i could sing it)
- "Baby Britain," (we didn't get to play it at the Elliott Smith show, so we played it tonight)
- "You're Gonna Get It," (Words and Music by Chris. The hardest rockin' tune of the night)
- "Dan's Groove" (Music by Dan. Getting in touch with our inner jam band)
- "If I Ain't Got You," (Alicia Keys cover. We decided to do this like a couple days before the show. It was so drastically different than everything else, but it was good. I saw 21 lighters in the audience, not because I counted, but because that's how many of Chris's smoking friends showed up)
- "Mischief Maker," AKA "Retribution," AKA "Donky Puncherello," (Ostensibly, the title is "Mischief Maker," but nothing set in stone. Music by Me, Words by Chris. I wrote it while listening to a lot of Dismemberment Plan, so that comes through a lot in the music)
