Hello friends! my band, The Great American Challenge, is playing in a battle of the bands this thursday, feb. 23, just before midnight. two other bands are playing at 10PM and 11PM. the venue is the all-time sketchiest: the Delta Lodge (corner of oak and fry street) and cover is 3 dollars. the band is me on piano and vocals, chris novembrino on guitar and vocals, Daniel McKenna on Bass and Nate Sankary on drums. thus ends my wild and crazy publicity stunt!

i took elizabeth out for a preemptive valentines day. we went to India Palace for wicked awesome Indian dinner, then to the Meyerson to see the Dallas Symphony Orchestra play wicked sappy love songs. elizabeth gave me a wicked cute bear and valentines card, as well as some wicked tasty ferrero rocher hazelnut-chocolates.
it was most assuredly the best date ever!
EDIT: also, i was given wicked nice valentines day boxers!!
i got a 7-movie box set of Studio Ghibli movies in the mail from ebay today. HUZZAH. it cost me less than thirty of your american dollars.
i've gotten 2.5 hours of sleep in the last 38 hours.

i can't get the mid semester blues in the third week. i am way too stressed out. I think this week is an obstacle. after i pass said obstacle, things will not be so stressful.

in other news, my band has settled upon a name once more: "The Great American Challenge."
elizabeth and i just watched Castle in the Sky, and enjoyed it very much. it's a contender with Princess Mononoke for sure. we might be on a Studio Ghibli kick.
this week would kill me, except it's still early in the semester. i haven't had free time since last friday.
