from Dave's mom's recording of my recital. i'm liking what i'm hearing!
as soon as i got done with my recital, i got sick. i can't breathe through my nose unless i use Afrin nasal spray, which works fantstic. you're not supposed to use it for more than 3 days in a row because it causes Rhinitis medicamentosa, which basically means it backfires and your nose gets stuffier.
lots of big things are happening this coming month. i'm graduating, moving in with elizabeth and starting master's work. it'll be busy but good.
my next task is my jury. i'm playing Woody Shaw's solo off of "Moontrane" and playing the head and improvising over the tune "Smile" by Charlie Chaplin
my senior recital went off with a hitch, but it was pretty smooth once it finally started. a lot of people were there despite the fact that there were flash floods in parts of town. i got good reactions. it was really good to hear my charts played well. i should have a recording at some point in the future.
my recital is this tuesday at 8:00 PM in kenton hall. it'll take one final push to get everything happening. after tuesday, i expect my quality of life to increase tenfold
ok, so i've spent about 3 days frantically searching at my apartment, elizabeth's apartment and my car for a movie i swore was a week and a half late.
no.
i returned it and forgot that i did.
this is the future of america, folks.
the 60th annual Lab Band madness concert is happening Tuesday the 17th of April at the Murchison Performing Arts Center on the UNT Campus. I'll be performing on three numbers: two with the Five O'Clock, one with the Four O'Clock. One of the charts the Five O'Clock is playing is my arrangement of "Pure Imagination."
anyone who wants to listen can do so live online at http://www.kntu.unt.edu/.
i believe everything starts at 7:00 PM. the UNT music site is down right now.
i'm pretty sure that you'll be able to hear those two bands around 7:25 to 8:00 PM, assuming the night begins at 7:00.
the denton walmart might be the most aggravating place in the whole world. the people at the deli argued with me and tried to convince me that i should buy different meat than i wanted, and i had to avoid killing everyone's child who just happened to be running full speed down every aisle screaming.
